What a great weekend! Perfect summer weather and not a cloud in the sky on Saturday!

I even went for a swim in the pool next door. Holy frickfracks it was a bit cool, but by the time it hits 40 degrees later today, it should be just about right – hahahah.

Tomorrow, 26 January, is Australia Day.

For some, Australia Day just means a holiday; for others, a day of celebration as a nation and for others still an ugly reminder of Australia’s white invasion.

It’s not for me to say which is the correct version for you to believe because for those of you not born in Australia it will be a celebration and possibly thanks that your adopted country has embraced you.

I am proudly first generation Australian.

You will have already seen the biggest Australian flag I’ve ever seen privately owned on my garage door.

I love singing the Australian anthem and do so, very loudly, whenever we go to the rodeo or any other place we have to stand and acknowledge Australia.

Whatever your reason for celebrating (or not celebrating) Australia Day, be respectful that there may be others that do not agree with your choice.

It’s ok to have a different opinion, or belief because that’s what makes our country great.

When we look at the rest of the world, we have a lot to be happy and grateful for. Have a happy and thoughtful Australia Day.

Your tune for today has to be the “Australian Anthem”.
